Shanjuan Cave is one of Yixing's most famous tourist attractions. It's one of three caves in this hilly region. But there is another reason why this place is famous.
Yixing is one of the homes to the Butterfly Lovers. This is one of the China's four most national epics. It's a tragic story of two lovers being separated during life, and after death, they become butterflies forever circling each other.
However, the story is the window dressing for the real attraction, which is the cave itself.
There is a boat ride of an underground cavern stream. The waterfall above flows into the cave.
