Hi, Dear Steemians friends.
Today I will share one of the very special hunting when I was in Burma. As I was at the Karen army camp talking with the general about things of the jungle that we both love. He told me lets go for a hunt tomorrow early morning as food is always needed in a place where there is no shop and really rare outside food coming in, because of the difficulties to access the place with no roads. We have build a school there for the children and give them all the furniture for children at least for two years. It was afternoon and we start to plan the hunt for the next day, the time we have to start and what to take and not take. He told me don't bring cameras because we may end up in the rain and deep in the mud. Then comes the time to choose the weapons. I was thinking we will use some hunting rifles like the long old rifle the people living there use. But this is an army place and after a little thinking, I believe we will take some M16 or AK. Finally, the general goes in a wooden little house and come back with a sniper rifle with an optic on it and a silencer then he goes back and comes back with another sniper rifle also with optics on it and both with a sniper tripod. The choice was made to use these two rifles for the hunt and explain that better shoot the head because it can damage the meat in the way it can explode the meat. Early the next morning I took a few shots of the jungle in the mist and leave the camera as recommended at the village. We walk about two hours in silence until one of the soldiers made a strange noise. Then we bend down to not be seen by whatever the soldier has spotted. They handle him one of the rifles and he puts his M16 in his back. Take the time to adjust carefully his rifle and shoot once. Really I was looking but can't see whatever he just has shot. Some kind of happiness feeling was among the soldier, so I was sure he has shot something. We walk quite a long way before coming close to the dead animal. Finally arrive next to the body laying on the ground. It was a kind of wild cow, after asking about it, it is called a Banteng. The soldier has shot the Banteng right down the neck to not damage it and a big chunk of the lower part of its neck was gone little like it gets its throat slit but with a big piece missing. Quickly the soldiers start to put a rope around its horns and try to drag it but it wasn't a solution. One soldier uses its walkie-talkie and called for the elephant to come to drag the animal. We head back to the village with some soldiers and two stays next to the animal waiting for the elephant. Later that day I walk a little outside the village to see the people cutting the Banteng into pieces. That day we eat it and the next day too. It tastes good and may it rest in peace. Here are some of the pictures.

That's some really bad ass rifles!!
Are trips like these open to public??
Yes, this is rifles for snipers. The zone is closed to the public but the Burmese Gov gives permits to allow special access but you still have to know people and have good reasons to go there, it is a two days walk in the jungle and dangerous as well because of the mines. But what a great adventure :)
i still remember my first time going out with a friend and his father to hunt but not using such weapon you use just the regular hunt weapon you know, that shot gun is just for military use and we catch 4 wild rabbits that day,we don't have Banteng.
Thank You @chatitsimo for sure this kind of weapon is war weapon, sniper weapon but it does the job if not explode the animal. :)
เป็นป่าที่สมบูรณ์ยังมีสัตว์ป่าให้ล่า เพือเป็นอาหาร
I really love the jungle, even sometimes it is difficult but it is beautiful and full of life for those who are willing to take time and explore it :)
Wow !!!
This is so real and now I understand more about how to hunt the animals when we need to.
Thank you for sharing.
Yes, this how it is deep in the jungle. I really don't like to kill animals, but the need of food in special places is a priority. Already, to get a few bags of rice over there is a problem and an adventure so survival is the rule.
That is true bro!!!
i am totally agree.
ยังเป็นป่าที่มีความอุดมสมบูรณ์มาก
ล่าสัตว์เพื่อมาเป็นอาหาร, ตัวใหญ่ๆมากค่ะ
