Our 2-day visit to Shanghai, China

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone. This post is on our most recent trip to Asia. Here is a little tour of our adventures in Shanghai, China. We only stayed there for 2 days.

The Bund

The best place in the city for us. It is by the Huangpu River. The view over all the buildings is wonderful, especially in the the end of the day and the beginning of the night. Thousands of people gather to contemplate one of the most popular landscapes of the city. One can see why:

Yu Garden / Yuyuan Garden

It is probably the most popular garden in Shanghai. The entrance is paid, but it's worth the ride. We went on a rainy day, which may have hampered the maneuver, but it helped to make it less crowded.

The Yu Garden is very close to the Old Town Market, which is also one of the most popular and crowded areas. There is plenty to eat and buy. Especially souvenirs that are very cheap.

In conclusion...

I would say that Shanghai has a lot to offer but you must stay there for at least 4 days. Specially when you are visiting it after 10 days in Japan and South Korea and are already tired. Ah, and enjoy some Hot Pot.
