The first thing to do most people who come to Pulau Weh is to go to Zero Monument Kilometer or Kilometer Zero (0 km from Indonesia). The location of this place is about 30 kilometers from downtown Sabang, or about 1 hour drive by uphill road and surrounded by big trees.
There is an assumption that it is not complete go to Sabang if you do not visit the Kilometer Monument Zero Indonesia. Sabang in the west and Merauke in eastern Indonesia often resonate in many national ceremonies. Indeed both are used in the lyrics of national songs, the song "From Sabang Until Merauke". The existence of this monument has become a popular tourist attraction in Sabang.
Previously Zero Kilometer monument is unkempt and hordes of monkeys welcome guests. Travelers even have to withstand thirst because no one sells softdrinks. Exhausted visitors will eventually feel good while enjoying the view of the sunset in the Strait of Malacca.
However, at this time, the new Kilometer Zero (KM 0) or Zero Kilometer Indonesia monument has been built. This monument was built more magnificent and large and no more naughty monkey gangs.
On holidays or weekends, many tourists visit Zero Kilometer Monument and take pictures while pointing the letters Kilometer Zero Indonesia as a background. This monument is very photogenic. Indeed, the monument with a height of 43.6 meters is still bewitching visitor
