he has the title "a mighty hunter" which means "great hunter" or "mighty hunter", for his prowess in hunting. His full name is Namrudz bin Kan'aan bin Kush bin Ham bin Noah (Noah as) or also some opinions (King Namrud bin Kush bin Ham bin Noah). besides he was given the title of God Bacchus or God of Wine and the Sun God. Namrudz itself is a plural word that has the meaning of "Let's rebel". His name is recorded in the Torah, the Gospel and the stories of Islam.
in his day, Namrudz was an intelligent king, but his intelligence made him arrogant and arrogant and so he claimed to be an atheist or as a God and his efforts always got great challenges from Prophet Ibrahim AS. his name is famous for his efforts as the founder of the Tower of Babel. According to the Bible the government includes Babylon, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar, also known as Namrud land.
Early History
Namrud's father is Kush, the grandson of Noah, and his mother is Semiramis. her mother in her teens had married her father. It is said, the day after sex with Semiramis, his father died. Therefore, when Namrud was born he did not have a father. Her mother is a beautiful and wise woman. after he was born, it is said he was never touched by man and Namrudz is considered a holy child. This has added to Namrud's belief that he is the son of god. When he grew up, he became a handsome man and his mother was jealous of his girlfriend. Therefore, Semiramis is married to Namrud, his own son.
Achievement of King Namrud
King Namrud has been awarded with high intellectual power and become an expert in various fields such as art design, mathematics and astronomy.
he has found a sexagesimal system that divides the circle to 360 degrees, one hour to 60 minutes and 1 minute to 60 seconds. In addition he determined that one day is divided into 24 hours every hour to 60 minutes and 1 minute to 60 seconds. according to him the day begins at midnight rather than at sunset as believed by the previous people.
In addition, Namrud is proficient in mathematical calculations in the construction of large buildings, bridges, temples, palaces and dams. among other things, his contribution is the construction of the irrigation system in the Tigris valley and Euphrates. He was the first person to use brick from burnt clay as a building material. even Namrud is famous as the architect of Tower of Babel is the first skyscraper in the world.
Unfortunately as an atheist, he has abused that ability to mislead his people. among others, using the science of astronomy to create a variety of fortune-telling systems such as horoscopes and predict the fate of palmistry. The goal is to show that man does not need God because man is able to predict and change his destiny by himself. in addition, he built many buildings and idols that are magnificent and beautiful for humans to be amazed by the greatness of his own creation. The Tower of Babel which means "The Perfect Gate" is a temple where priests praise Namrud. the purpose built is to raise a building that is able to reach the pearl. According to the book of "History of the Apostles and Kings" in the 9th century by the famous Islamic historian al-Tabari, the tower has been destroyed by God. initially his predecessors used a single language that is Syriac, but he split it into 72 different languages. As a result they can not communicate with each other and can not continue the construction of the tower.
he is also very interested in witchcraft and uses it to influence the minds of his people. It is said that he studied the science of two angels Harut and Marut ever mentioned in the Qur'an. In addition, Namrud has started a new era in which humans look down on the god. his people are not advised to do good for the sake of god, for for him the unseen god is weak. Therefore, the people under his government can follow the human passions such as partying, free sex, wine and all other munkar. therefore, Namrud was given the title Bacchus or the God of Wine because he was 'drunk' with mundane. He also claimed to be God because, as a human being, he felt more knowledgeable about the weaknesses of other human beings than God far apart from his own creatures.
the coming of Prophet Ibrahim AS
One night King Namrud dreamed of seeing stars rising from the west. The higher it rises, the brighter the star shines. So he gets to the zenith where he illuminates the entire universe. after awakening King Namrudpun summoned his advisor and told his dream. The adviser told him that there were some interpretations for his dream.
Dream interpretations include:
• a child will be born within a year.
• the child will be born in Faddam A'ram.
• the child will become an idolater.
• the child will prove the false of King Namrud.
• the child will spread the religion that one god exists and from him will be born descendants of the prophets and aulia.
• The last prophet of this breed will carry a religion which is like a star in the zenith that illuminates the whole universe.
• As a result of this child King Namrud will die dasyhat.
according to another story, Namrud dreams of seeing a child jump and enter his room, then seize the crown he is wearing, then destroy it.
After hearing this news, Namrud became agitated. he realized that this child would lead to his downfall. soon King Namrud sent his army to Faddam A'ram. The men have been separated from their wives. The pregnant women were murdered. King Namrud also issued an order that whoever gave birth to a son would be killed with his son. after one year he gets a sign that the child will be born. He suspected Azaar of the most trusted person because Azaar had been allowed to enter the city. However, Azaar dismisses him and his wife also shows no signs of becoming pregnant. however, he did not trust him and assigned a soldier to take care of Azaar's wife. A year has passed and the Namrud army has been expelled from the town of Faddam A'ram.
The death of King Namrud
the Bible never states about the meeting between King Namrud and Prophet Ibrahim US There is even a seven-generation gap between them, Namrud as the great-great-grandson of Noah, while Ibrahim ten generations after Noah. (Genesis 10,11).
but the Torah and the Qur'an illustrate the battle between King Namrud and Prophet Ibrahim AS as a great confrontation between good and evil or more specifically Monotheism against Taghout and Idolatry. but according to Jewish sources, King Namrud had time to repent before he died. But Muslims believe that he remains with his stance as God until the end of his life.
Allah sends down thousands of mosquitoes or delicate insects. the greatest man-made weapon can not afford to ward off this little creature's attack. Within minutes they had pierced the skin of King Namrud's army and killed them enormously. But he managed to escape but the mosquito had entered his brain. supposedly, for forty days and forty nights, he was tormented because his brain was pierced by the mosquito. During that time, the Prophet Ibrahim often visited and preached to him. But he still claims to be God. he finally summoned his messenger to take a large iron bar to hit his head for the pain to disappear. after a few minutes his head was beaten, he ordered his messengers to deliver the most powerful blow and this had led to the death of the ugly King Namrud. Then the mosquito crawled out of his ear. then the life of an arrogant king died from a small mosquito attack.
