After two incredible hikes in the mountains of Zhangjiajie National Park, we have to say goodbye.
Our journey continues and the final stop of the China Adventure is approaching: Yangshuo, city in the middle of karst mountains.
The train trip takes about 15 hours (length: about 950 km): We have to take a night train to Liujiang, then take a taxi to the neighbouring city Liuzhou to get to our final destination from there.
The night train is unfortunately not the newest, but we settle down and watch the passing landscape.
In the evening, we have a noodle-box!
Due to the snoring of our compartment-passenger (soft-sleeper with 4 beds in a comprtment) we unfortunately do not get a lot of sleep.
At 4:30 am, we are rudely awakened by the train attendant: time to get off!
So here we are, in the middle of the night somewhere in nowhere and need to find a taxi to Liuzhou. Luckily, a young Chinese guy comes to our aid, Marco, who also wants to get there.
He starts to negotiate for us for a fair taxi price. However, the waiting taxi drivers get enraged: Because of Marco helping us, they lose a good deal they would have done with us foreigners.
Result of a long heated discussion: All taxi drivers refuse to take us three to Liuzhou, no matter what the price.
So we walk to the next bus stop and wait. Reminder: It's still in the middle of the night!
Finally, after about 1h, a taxi driver takes pity on us and drives us to Liuzhou for 30 Yuan. We are quite relieved. We already started to imagine the train to Yangshuo leaving without us – that would have been a catastrophe!
From then on, everything runs perfectly well - we get into a modern and fast G-train in Liuzhou. When we arrive in Yangshuo, the taxi is already waiting for us, (we had booked it through our hotel).

For our last trip stop, we choose a better hotel: We will stay in Yangshuo Mountain Retreat the next 5 days.
The hotel places great emphasis on sustainability and harmony with nature.
And indeed, when we arrive, we are speechless.
It’s like paradise!
For the past two and a half weeks, we have had so much excitement and noise around us, traveling from one megacity to the next. And suddenly:
Quiet
The hotel is located directly on the Yulong-river and is surrounded by karst mountains.
We can certainly relax here perfectly within the days to come!
As soon as our luggage is stowed away in the room, we make ourselves comfortable in the garden.
Of course, with the best view of the Yulong-river and the surrounding karst mountains.
We are quite hungry – so as a starter, we order freshly fried spring rolls.

As a main course we choose fried noodles with vegetables and spicy eggplant-minced beef-pan

Everything is wonderfully fresh and prepared with love and just wonderful delicious!

Nach zwei unglaublichen Wanderungen in den Gebirgen des Zhangjiajie-Nationalparks müssen wir leider Abschied nehmen.
Unsere Reise geht weiter und die letzte Station des China-Abenteuers steht bevor: Yangshuo, Stadt inmitten des Karstgebirges.
Die Zugreise dorthin dauert 15 Stunden (Länge: ca. 950 km): Wir müssen erst mit einem Nachtzug nach Liujiang, dort dann ein Taxi nehme in die benachbarte Stadt Liuzhou, um von dort aus an unser Ziel zu kommen.
Der Nachtzug ist leider nicht der neuste, aber wir richten uns heimelig ein und beobachten die vorbeiziehende Landschaft.
Abends gibt es eine Nudelbox!
Aufgrund des Schnarchens unseres Mitfahrers (man schläft immer in Abteilen mit vier Betten) bekommen wir leider nur wenig Schlaf ab.
Um 04:30 Uhr werden wir unsanft von einem Zugbegleiter geweckt: Zeit, auszusteigen!
Wir stehen also mitten in der Nacht irgendwo im Nirgendwo und müssen ein Taxi nach Liuzhou finden. Zum Glück kommt uns ein junger Chinese zur Hilfe, Marco, der das gleiche Ziel wie wir hat.
Prompt beginnt er, für uns für einen fairen Taxipreis zu verhandeln. Das treibt die wartenden Taxifahrer jedoch in Rage, weil ihnen durch Marcos Hilfe ein gutes Geschäft durch die Lappen geht.
Ergebnis diverser hitziger Gespräche: Alle Taxifahrer weigern sich, uns drei mitzunehmen, egal zu welchem Preis.
Wir laufen also zur nächsten Bushaltestelle und warten. Erinnerung: Es ist immer noch mitten in der Nacht!
Endlich, nach ca. 1h erbarmt sich ein Taxifahrer und nimmt uns für 30 Yuan mit nach Liuzhou - Glück gehabt!
Von da an läuft alles wie am Schnürchen – wir steigen in Liuzhou in einen modernen und schnellen G-Zug, in Yangshuo angekommen, wartet das Taxi auf uns, das wir vor Beginn der Reise über unser Hotel reserviert hatten.

Für unsere letzte Reise-Stopp haben wir uns ein nobleres Hotel gegönnt: Wir werden für 5 Nächste im Yangshuo Mountain Retreat hausen.
Das Hotel legt großen Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit und den Einklang mit der Natur.
Und tatsächlich: Als wir ankommen, sind wir einfach nur sprachlos.
Ein Paradies!
In den letzten 2,5 Wochen hatten wir immer so viel Trubel und Lärm um uns herum, sind von einer Megastadt in die nächste gereist. Und plötzlich:
Ruhe
Das Hotel liegt direkt am Yulong-Fluss und ist von Karstgebirge umgeben.
Hier können wir mit Sicherheit die Seele baumeln lassen!
Sobald unser Gepäck im Zimmer verstaut ist und wir uns etwas Luftiges übergezogen haben, machen wir es uns im Garten gemütlich.
Natürlich mit bestem Blick auf den Yulong-Fluss und das umliegende Karstgebirge.
Wir bestellen als Vorspeise frisch gebratene Frühlingsrollen.

Als Hauptgang gibt es dann gebratene Nudeln mit Gemüse und feurige Aubergine-Hack-Pfanne
