The Monument to Peace (also called Virgen de la Paz) is a colossal commemorative sculpture of the Virgin Mary, made entirely in concrete, erected 11 km southwest of the city of Trujillo, Venezuela, with 46.72 meters of height, 16 meters wide, 18 deep at the base and about 1200 tons, is the tallest living sculpture in America, being centimeters taller than the Statue of Liberty in New York in the United States and the statue of Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. It is also the statue dedicated to the highest Virgin Mary in the world.

In addition to the viewpoints, the monument consists of a chapel or center of prayer and spiritual recollection and a bell tower that repeats every half hour. The dome of the chapel is decorated with a stained glass window in the center of which a pigeon shines, surrounded by luminous colors that allude to the spiritual splendor of the symbol
