Tulum: history and paradise in Mexico

in #travel7 years ago

I am currently planing a trip to Mexico to take place in Summer, and by checking the possible options - I simply felt in love for Tulum in Mexico.

There are other more popular destinations in the Yucatán Peninsula such as Cancun and Cozumel, but after researching realized that including this destination in our Mexico trip is a must. Tulum is 2 hours drive from Cancun.

you can visit the Mayan temple close to the beach

History and great spot for pictures in an incredible landscape.

you can dive into a Cenote

'Cenote' is a natural pit, and there are many nearby as one of the main tourist atractions in Tulum. Have a look at the below link for the local top 3 cenotes:

where to stay

You can choose to stay in the Village Tulum Pueblo (close to the Mayan Temple) close to some cenotes and the Mayan acheological sites. Tulum Pueblo is cheaper than the hotels and resorts on the coast/beach. On the other hand, the coastal/beach hotels will give you more convenience in case your aim is relaxing and enjoying the sea and the good restaurants nearby. There are few coastal/beach hotels which don't have electricity i.e. which are environmentally friendly - attention: therefore no wifi ;-) - however, in the modern times this can be a good thing in case you want to chill out :)

don't forget the Mexican food

I had a post about a restaurant in Mexico City, just check it out:

Beside beaches, nature and friendly people, you can be sure the food is a great excuse to visit Mexico:
