12 Things to do in Malta

In 2023, I visited Malta. Of course, before traveling, I had to do some research. The official language they speak in Malta are Maltese and English. Being able to speak in English throughout the entire country made it a lot easier for us tourists to communicate and navigate through the island.

Another more convenient thing was that the currency they accept in Malta is the Euro. Too bad they don't accept HBD (yet, YET RIGHT?). In any case, there are currency exchange services available at the airport, banks, and the obvious exchange bureaus. And if you're traveling with a Credit Card, they are pretty accessible in Malta through ATMs, especially in the popular tourist areas and cities.

So far so good. The only difference so far right now is the Plugs on Malta. It's completely different than the ones that we use back home, so it's better to purchase a converter or adapter if you're from Europe. Their standard plug is Type G. I Guess, I'll be going to the UK as well sometime.

In terms of safety, Malta is a pretty generally considered safe destination to travel through. Crimes are pretty rare, and the overall crime rate is relatively low. This just keeps the no-brainer responsibility for travelers; keeping an eye on your belongings, avoiding poorly lit or isolated areas, and so on.

And if you -do get fucked over, don't worry, Malta has well-equipped medical facilities and hospitals that provide quality healthcare services. If you wonder why: it's an island! And on the island you need experts. Best bang for your travel insurance just in case something happened, whoops.

The transportation mechanics in Malta seem to be pretty good. There are boats, taxis, and buses, and you can rent a car.

Malta enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Summers (June to September) are particularly popular among tourists, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F). Get yo sunscreen lads, you better stay comfortable during your visit.

Follow this post, because;

In this blog post, you'll (eventually) find out more about everything about my trip in June to Malta during the Summer of 2023. I'll be updating this blog post accordingly as I publish new travel articles filled with photography of Malta.

12 Things to do in Malta

Malta is a stunning island. It has a lot of historical stories, and just a lot of beauty to explore. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, this place is a must-see for sure! A decent amount of scenes are recorded here. You'll find more in the blog posts below :).

As for the trip

The trip from Amsterdam to Malta went pretty smoothly. There were no delays or fuck-ups at the airport. Which is nowadays pretty rare. I always get so annoyed when you pay a decent amount of money for a plane ticket, and shit isn't working properly. However, better late than dead. Schiphol, Amsterdam Airport isn't a bad place to get delayed though.

Catching some views

During the flight, I had a nice view to watch the clouds and snap some pictures. Luckily there were no annoying kids on the plane. HOWEVER, there was this one kid at the airport with some parents who felt they were super entitled to anything. Lol. It was quite funny to see how fucking brainwashed some people are, or think they are more worthy than another human being. Popcorn time.

Finally landed

At the landing, there was a very nice Sunset waiting to get a picture taken. Getting the luggage took quite some time, but as the airport wasn't as big as I thought it would be, it was to be expected I guess.

Let's get a cab and get to the Airbnb

While it was getting a bit dark, it was time to get to the Airbnb and get some good night's rest.
