Return flights + accodomation costs only RM325 per person on www.airasiago.com.my.
I've been relying on AirAsiaGo's page for some of my best trips to 3 Southeast Asia countries namely Laos, Cambodia, and now Vietnam. I highly recommend shopping on AirAsiaGo if you're looking for budget flight and accomodation that's comfortable. Anyhow, here I am in Hoi An and I'll share with you some of my first thoughts and pictures.
- Why is everyone driving so slowly?
- There are so many bikes.
- The houses appear small from the front, but my... they are really long behind.
- So many noodle stalls with low stools and table.
- SO MANY TAILORS.
- SOOO MANY LANTERNS.
- Every motorist appears to have gotten so used to brushing with death.
- Oh! There's UBER X. And it's not that expensive.
- I wonder if anybody wants a postcard.
- WE SHOULD RENT A SCOOTER.
And so we did. We then visited the Old City and the night market where the tourists congregate to admire the heritage buildings and Hoi An's unique lanterns of many shapes and sizes.
Also, we had Cao Lau for our dinner and the noodles were chewy. Locals said they cooked the pho in spring water... which gave it its springy texture. BS or not, we enjoyed our meal.
Checked out the night market and this one particular snack caught our attention. Grilled Rice Paper looks like a crispy Apam, but inside, it's loaded with meat, shrimp, and spring onions.
I'm going to ride the rented scooter up the Hai Van pass today and we'll be exploring Da Nang. Basically, I'll be in Vietnam until the 12th September so if you want postcards, please comment on this post before 12th so I can send you one.
Stay tuned for my next post!

So good! I haven't traveled overseas in 2+ years and it really is due. My extended family lives in Ipoh and I haven't been back to Malaysia since I finished high school (back in 2005!).
