October is indeed a great time to visit the city of Raleigh, North Carolina. With gorgeous weather, excellent restaurants and entertainment a weekend in the city is well worth the trip.If you are looking for a laid back afternoon to spend outdoors check out Tobacco Road Sports Cafe – offers great food and place to hang out on the deck watching a game or just enjoying the view of the field. TRSC overlooks the Durham Bulls baseball fields.
The Guglhupf Bakery & Café in Durham is absolutely outstanding. Stopped in for breakfast and had to get pastries to go.
Just a short drive from downtown Raleigh are lush gardens at Sarah P. Duke Gardens. You could spend an entire afternoon in the gardens and what a gorgeous setting to have a wedding.
Did you say breakfast? If you are in the mood for Belgian Waffles you must simply stop in Cary, NC to Briggs Restaurant. These waffles melt in your mouth and are simply divine.Sweet tooth anyone? If you are looking to satisfy that craving for sweets The Cupcake Shoppe Bakery in downtown Raleigh serves delicious cupcakes and coffee in a simply cute atmosphere.
While in town visiting there was an outdoor music festival downtown during the day and at night my boyfriend and I headed over to the Lincoln Theater to catch a Blue Grass Show.
