West Coast Cycle Tour - SF to Santa Cruz

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

I'm finally managing to crunch through all the raw files I have from my trip and pumping the content out.

Here's day 39 of my 2000-mile solo cycle tour down the entire West Coast of the USA. I ride from San Francisco down to the cool town of Santa Cruz. I was fortunate enough to witness the sunset and the rising of the full 'super moon'. I also worked up enough of an appetite to take on a 5lb (2.3kg) burrito.

Find out how I got on...

Thanks for recommending steemit AND bitcoin lol !!! Looks like you're killing it in both realms !

Good going man! These videos are good for me cause I will be doing my first bicycle tour in a few months. Keep it up, Paul

Awesome! Where are you going to be riding?

We are starting in Croatia and cycling through too Spain. Should be a lot of fun

Sounds fricking awesome! Are you going to be going through the Alps or staying to the south through northern Italy? I did Vienna to Milan this summer through the Alps and it was like another world. I'm sure you're going to have a blast.

Yeah we are going through the Alps! And should be in Spain to watch the last week of Vuelta Espana (at least that is the plan). I am super excited. I think I will do a small bike tour here in South Africa very soon just to practice with all my equipment on the bike and all

A vegan cyclist, love it!
When will you be riding through California next?
And got any recommended rides in the Bay Area I can check out?

@brandomoon

I think I'll be back in California in May. I think I'll be racing in the Trans Am Bike Race across America in June. Will swing by friends for acclimatisation and training beforehand.

The whole Bay Area is awesome for riding. You need to ride up Mount Tamalpais (highest peak in the local area), Hawk Hill (hill overlooking Golden Gate Bridge from the side opposing SF), go up Twin Peaks (local peak in the city) and take on some of the stupid grade streets (loads that are 30%+ for a block).

I actually have a ton of videos from my entire West Coast trip. I'm eventually going to have produced a video for every single day. Check out the San Francisco videos in the playlist (link starts from when I arrive at SF). I did all the rides I detailed.

:D

Cool tour. Will follow. I also do cycle tours but more of the backcountry type. New here so haven't posted much yet but I'll be adding content you may enjoy.

I gave you a follow. Looking forward to seeing what you post!

Just looked at your profile, are you vegan as well? That's super cool man.

Yeah, I'm vegan. 10 years in February! If only I was as early to crypto as I was to veganism haha!

Haha yeah my thoughts exactly! I've been vegan for the past two and half years

The sea is very beautiful! I wish I could cycle at places like that!

I've been bogged down so very slow to edit my way through all of these days. I'm currently in winter in London going through the footage wishing I was still there! California is absolutely gorgeous!

Love the trip and editing. Must take quite a bit of time to make your videos.

Thanks! Means a lot! I did this trip in October-November 2016. Took about 40 hours / 600GB of footage on the trip. I've been slowly whittling away at it. Set myself the ambitious task of detailing each day of the trip. Way too many people turn a 2 month adventure into a 2 minute slideshow. I wanted to try and capture the entire thing. Just finished off the next episode so will be uploading and posting soon!
