Instead of proceeding chronologically I decided to branch off to a destination we visited LAST TIME we were in Hong Kong. My father-in-law had never been out of the Philippines and had to demonstrate that to the U.S. Department of State that he's a real tourist and not a job seeking immigrant.
So we took him to Hong Kong and Macau a couple of years ago. Unfortunately those to Special Administrative Areas don't stamp your passport. But we had a good time anyway.
While we were in Hong Kong this time (It was my first time and we didn't have the kids) we stayed at the Disney Resort, but it rained all day so we didn't get to enjoy the park.
We stayed on some executive/club level of the resort so we got to have pajama time with Minnie
The club snacks were cute
The toiletries were cute
Cool lookin hotel
Here's that rain... bummer.... I like that hedge maze, that's pretty cool ;-)
We went up to Victoria Peak
I highly recommend taking the scenic bus route up to the peak, then taking the trolley down.
We caught this guy's Taxi: Oh my... got enough devices there buddy?
Then we took a Ferry to...
MACAU
China's answer to Las Vegas. They boast that much more gambling revenue is generated here.
Recognize this fountain from my Vegas Post? Macau has a Venetian (yeah theirs is much bigger).
We checked out The House of Dancing Water
We love Cirque de Soleil... we've been to a few, this was Def Mo Betta
Finally, Macau was a Portuguese colony from 1557 to 1999 (according to my very superficial research). I checked out this square. Nice architecture and fusion of cultures. Fascinating place.
This is a Google image. Didn't feel like digging out the pics I took of this square, sorry :-/
If you made it to the bottom, congratulations. You'll be one of the first to learn that my SBS Channel Bars are back in stock!
Please UpVote, ReSteem, Comment.
I'll be giving away one of those silver gorilla heads on SteemIt pretty soon. So... check back ;-)
PS Next time I'll get us back on track... to the Philippines, honest. It's just... Macau's closer and I just noticed the two Venetian fountains today. Pretty cool 👍🏼
Ok, I will let you postpone my trip to Manilla because I liked this trip to Macau and because in Macau I can speak Portuguese, my native language. Beautiful place!
Alright man! What the heck, how did I miss that? Of course, that's totally awesome. I don't speak Portuguese, understand a lot of it though. There was this movie that was up for an Oscar a few years ago. Central Station... you know it? I watched it a few times... it'd make me cry. Beautiful. Thanks for the comment my friend.
OMG, I just looked it up... been almost 20 years. Time is so unkind... wait up!
Cool trip pics and some nice silver!
Thanks for checkin out the post bro! I appreciate it.
Thanks for showing us those beautiful photos of your trip! The ferry ride and tram ride, I did, and also visited the Wong Tai Sin Temple... that was one busy temple. I'm sure you went there too.
Wong Tai Sin looks familiar, but I couldn't say for sure, hehe. I used to like visiting temples, but I think I got burnt out on them in Thailand, there's a Wat on every corner :P
Usually like to check out the markets, local food, and maybe some vistas (or a museum, zoo, aquarium... something like that).
Thanks for checking out my post 👍🏼
Damn you are a world traveler my friend !!!
Only two continents, lol... bought a ticket to Europe but never got to use it.
Sweet bro! Fantastic snap shots!!
Thank you kindly good sir. Please help yourself to a piglet cookie and a couple of geisha girls.
That looks like a fabulous trip SBS!
Hello, AgScots! Yeah, it was a good time. So much easier traveling without the kids :P
Thanks for checking out my post :D
Very nice trip. I see they painted the ceiling with blue skies and clouds just like in Las Vegas.
Yeah, sometimes you forget you're indoors... and it's 3 am, lol.
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
