On Good Friday, this feels like an appropriate photo to share. It's one of the 30 statues that lines the Charles Bridge, called the Crucifix and the Calvary. Originally on this spot, a wooden cross was placed in 1361. Being wood, it eventually was destroyed. A new wooden cross was built here in 1629 that also was damaged and destroyed. Finally, in 1657, a metal statue was created to memorialize the crucifixion of Christ. I hope everyone will have a wonderful Easter weekend!
