One of the many ships now used as a breakwater in Kelsey Bay at the log sort area. Kelsey Bay is located with in Sayward BC on Vancouver Island. It's a picturesque little town on the ocean and is home to one of the largest logging sorting areas on the coast.
There are at least ten ships similar to this one run a ground or chained together to form various breakwaters and safe areas for the logs, workers and shoreline. Unfortunately these ships were not cleaned or cared for so their negative environmental impact is very clear on the surrounding area.
If your ever in the area please do go and check out the town and the waterfront. It's an interesting look into BC past and possible future.
