Something in the Water

in #travel7 years ago

Traveling north from Marcoola to Noosa Heads we stopped at Sunshine Beach. The waves crashing into the shore were filled with some sort of spawn or something. My friends and the staff at the surf club where we stopped for a drink had no idea why the water was the colour it was.

As we wander the beach it was littered with stranded Blue Bottle Jellyfish. I have heard stories of these little guys have quite a potent sting and it was a little sad to see them left to dry out in the sun. I'm looking forward going diving soon and photographing these jellies underwater.

I'd love to know if anyone has any in site as to why the waters look the way they do. Sunshine Beach, Noosa and the other beaches we stopped at were so beautiful. Its been a great trip so far.

The picture are really clear,

But you didn't even add the camera you used

Shooting everything on this trip with a Canon 7d mk2 and a 17-40mm lens.

Is this camera your favorite or do you have others?

I have several, I also have an original Canon 5d as well as a 6d. I use the 7d for all my underwater work and keep the full frame ones for my portrait work.

Oh nice. Cool I need me a better cam.

Canon and nikon are so far the best cameras to shot pictures. IPhone is good for phones.

Wow the pictures look so clear

What camera you got ?

I'm shooting this trip with a Canon 7d mk2

Nice shots! Sometimes the water in the fiord here in Norway is looking also different - normally is crystal clear but there are days that it looks like a mud... I don't know the reason but maybe it is all about the currents of the water or some storms passing by in other nearby locations...
This photo I made not a long time ago and it shows how it is sometimes here:

Interesting, love the images. I've had friends visit various parts of Norway and do some diving with the orca's you have there. All of the images I've seen from them is beautiful clear water. Thanks for sharing.

I had one friend also who was diving with orca's near Tromsø, he said it was the strongest experience he had. Must be incredible...

These are really nice pics. Thanks for sharing ;)

I’d say looking at the pic you’re just near the creek at Sunrise Beach. The fresh water flowing into the ocean is black with tanin from the Tea Tree swamps, when it’s mixed with the salt water you get the foam.

Wow Nice View, Good Shoot! I Have Done Upvote & Follow You
