Diving for me is many things. Over the years its been my job, and my hobby, but I've always had a great understanding the the balance between us and nature. I thank my grandfather for teaching me that at a very early age.
Once I received my instructors certification through PADI I was tasked with being responsible for other peoples lives while under the water, but part of that responsibility was to hopefully in still some sense of stewardship in those students and divers I lead towards the ocean and the environment.
As the saying goes "Take only memories, and leave only bubbles."
Getting out there and experiencing the world in whatever way you see fit is awesome, and I hope one or some of these images can be an inspiration to you.
Thanks for reading.
Scott

Those images are inspiring indeed. There's something really beautiful and romantic in underwater photography like that. And the skateboard and street sign shots are actually pretty funny ;)

Nice photos! I am a scuba diver myself with Padi Open Water license. There is so much cool stuff to explore underwater that "regular" people can't see! I have to say, you were a little close to that wolffish! Where are these photos taken?
oww just amazing photography.I don't tell about this photography bt i can tell about your post. It's just Awesome.what you like photography?
Honestly, i think you are really creative with photographs.
And it's so cool that you have diving as your full time job while the rest of the world are doing the boring desk jobs.
Really fantastic photos. I loved all!!!
It's like a whole different world down there, travel safe my friend!
Wow man, it is amazing man. In 2018, I am going to get my scuba-diving licence. You are most welcome to Malaysia, as we have many wonderful Islands to explore. I am ready for it, Just wait to join with me! Keep share your collections.
Great photos...I have a question though @scottdphoto...Are lenses specifically made for underwater photography?? Or do you make use of normal dslr lenses with weather sealing??..and really nice post !!You really nail composition and your pictures tell stories just by looking at them...thanks for sharing
I thank your grandfather, because your grandfather has taught you to swim very fast so you can make this post today. You have to learn something from the picture that you have posted. I have seen many videos in the Discovery Channel but you have not seen pictures like this. You try to create some video clips.
I love seeing your underwater photos. Such raw beauty, living in the completely other world that is a part of our own. I'm curious about the street sign picture though; was that part of a town that the ocean reclaimed recently, or is that debris from either a shipwreck or careless littering from boaters? There's a story in that photo alone, much less the other beautiful shots that you've shared with us.
You've got a dream job! Thanks for sharing with us :)
Stunning photos @scottdphoto ! Definitely resteeming this <3 I especially love the underwater street sign shot
You have very fascinating photographs. Are you like a fish in the water) Do not you dive into the depths?
Very cool!
Love these shots. Upvoted and following.

I love the pic of the anemone at the bottom the most
One day, am going to explore that world for now am hitting a follow button :)
Well said! I thank you for your inspiring words for whoever consider experience that fantastic world of the underwater.
Still I would say you can hear or read billions of words about how great it is and once you put ur self into it and just dive it’s still more amazing than u ever heard or read :)

love to be down there, in the blue, flying with fishes and talking bubbles sound out ! thank you !
I’ve had an obsession with the sea for as long as I can remember! When I was preschool aged, my grandmother took me to a book store and allowed me to pick just one book. I chose a Jacques Cousteau book with color photography pics (this was the late 70’s and there wasn’t a ton of underwater photography happening). She tried to talk me out of it and I held on tight. These images that you post give me that same feeling of awe! Thank you 💙
Awsome photos!
