This weekend was my parents 30 year medical school reunion in Gainesville. Two of my siblings bailed last minute so Morgan and I stepped up to the plate and joined them. We drove down Friday after work and went to this restaurant called Mildred’s Big City Food. It was delicious. Morgan had Salmon with risotto and I chose the pork chop with sweet potato and cauliflower. Both were great choices.
With the football game being the following day at noon we opted to hit the hay early to get up and get ready for the gator game. For breakfast Saturday morning we went to Maple Street Biscuit Company. If you have never been to one, please go! You will not be disappointed! We split a biscuit with chicken and gravy and an order of hash browns with onions, peppers, ham, and cheese on them. 2400 calories later and we were off to Ben Hill Griffin stadium.
We tailgated for an hour or so before heading into the game. The game was awesome. The gators got down early but fought back. They ended up winning 35-31. As a non-gator fan I had a fun time at the game!
After the game we met up with my parents at a local bar and had a drink before they left. We then
Went to Salty Dog before heading back to the house. Instead of going home we decided to go bowling with the group!
Overall, it was a great trip and I can’t wait to go back!
