How much does it cost to travel throughout most of China? 8 months of personal experience tell you, do you think it is expensive
Getting to know me started from the Yellow River in turn, starting from June to the present 8 months. Someone asked how much it would cost. Today, I will talk in detail. Let’s take a look at how much money was spent on food, clothing, housing and transportation for such a long-span trip. To provide you with a travel reference.

First of all, from June 16th to November 13th, we walked a total of 13,000 kilometers in 151 days and passed through 9 provinces. At this stage, we have been walking on both sides of the Yellow River. All the trips are in the north. Northern Shaanxi and Northwestern China are impressed. Prices are relatively high, and food, clothing, housing, and transportation are relatively cheap. Even Inner Mongolia and Qinghai, where prices are relatively high, are much lower than those in developed areas in the south.

And traveling in the north, a particularly big advantage is that my northern stomach will feel very comfortable, all kinds of noodles are delicious, and the price is cheap. Although 5 months sounds like a long time, our overall cost is not high. In the previous video, we also summarized it, which cost a total of 48,700 yuan.

From Maduo along the Dema Expressway all the way eastward in Zoige, Gannan is in late autumn, and the vast plateau pastures are full of surprises. In Longnan, in Hanzhong Ningqiang, and in Guangyuan, Sichuan, I relived the history of the Three Kingdoms a thousand years ago. There are historical records everywhere. Intoxicated, we left the Jiange, because we have traveled many times from Chengdu to western Sichuan. This time Decided to go straight from Jiange to Langzhong, and then all the way south, following the direction of Jialing River, going straight to Chongqing via Nanchong, turning back to Neijiang, Yibin, and rushing from Luzhou to Guizhou along the banks of the Chishui River.

I paid my respects to the red history of Guizhou, tasted the specialties of Guizhou, entered the Wumeng Mountain area and slowly walked to Yunnan, Zhaotong, Qujing, Kunming, Yuxi, and Mengzi. Along the way, I visited some of the not-so-popular scenic spots in Yunnan. No matter the warm sun in winter, I entered Guangxi along National Highway 219 and went straight to Dongxing via Chongzuo. Starting from Dongxing, I started the coastal journey to Guangzhou. For special reasons, I temporarily stopped the journey home for the New Year.

Among them, the most important cost is the following points.

  1. Vehicle expenses

In the past few months, the car’s odometer has gone from 58,000 kilometers to 83,000 kilometers, and 12,000 kilometers from 61,000 kilometers when the Yellow River ended. The most expensive of these is fuel consumption. I remember that when we went out in June, the fuel price was just right. It’s the lowest point. You can add fuel to about 5 yuan. After the Yellow River ended, the price of oil rose to about 6 yuan. After that, the cost of refueling for 12,000 kilometers was also increased. A total of 6,900 yuan was spent, and tolls were also essential. In one item, it cost 3024 yuan to get home in mid-November. Among them, there are highways and national highways, and there are more national highways. This alone adds up to 9,924 yuan.

It costs 700 yuan to do a maintenance of the car in Zhuhai. In Yuxi and Zhuhai, the four front and rear tires were changed for 2,600 yuan. The maintenance of the vehicle cost 3300 yuan. Since the end of the Yellow River, the cost of using the vehicle has reached 13,224 yuan.

  1. Accommodation expenses

In addition to the cost of using the vehicle, the next big sum is the cost of accommodation. Accommodation costs are a large amount of expenses in travel, but this cost is controllable, where to live? Thousands and tens of thousands, and there are also dozens of dollars that are cheaper. Naturally, it depends on your own situation when you travel. There are also some travelers who are used to sleeping in the car, which can indeed save a lot of money, and the quality of travel is bound to decline, and this is not all cars can meet the conditions. We have tried many times along the way.

It took 88 days from the end of the Yellow River on November 13 to February 9. At the beginning, because of the cold weather on the road from Maduo to Gannan, I stayed every day for 10 days, and the cost of accommodation was high, with an average cost of 200 yuan. At this stage, it cost 2,000 yuan. Later, I entered Longnan, although it was late autumn. The temperature is also suitable. In the process of walking, I can sleep in the car for about two days a week. This frequency has been used to walk through Sichuan. In about 20 days, the accommodation cost is relatively cheaper. At this stage, a total of 2,170 yuan was spent.

After entering Guizhou, because of the cold weather, I lived in the car for about one day a week. Later, when I entered Guangxi, Yunnan, I basically used the frequency of living in the car one day a week until I arrived home. It is also okay. It can ease the deterioration of travel fatigue. According to statistics, this stage cost 7,226 yuan, and after the 88 days from the Yellow River to home, a total of 11,396 yuan was spent on accommodation.

  1. Food expenses

The third item is eating. People rely on food. When we travel to different regions, we usually choose to eat local characteristics first, especially snacks, a bowl of noodles, a bowl of noodles, and occasionally the next time At the restaurant, you can also taste seafood when you reach the beach. Three meals a day are also a high cost. The most important thing is that the price of goods in the south is obviously higher than that in the northwest. This is especially reflected in the meal. The two of us spent a total of 88 days in eating. There was 11560 yuan.

  1. Ticket fees

The fourth item is the tickets for scenic spots. When we were in the northwest before, most of the scenic spots were relatively unrestrained, such as the Great Wall ruins, vast pastures, and a series of cultures on the banks of the Yellow River. Most of them were free of charge. After arriving to the south, the scenic spots are very dense. There are also charging items in the ancient town. The famous mountains and rivers that can be called are more convenient. It costs 20 to 80 to 90 yuan. Adding up, we spent a total of 2,350 in the 88 days of admission Yuan, which also includes the cost of some shuttle buses and ropeways.

  1. Purchase
The fifth item of souvenirs is daily shopping. The first is the purchase of daily necessities, including snacks, drinks, water, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and towels. This part doesn’t cost much. The most important thing is the cost of buying some souvenirs and specialty products. When I go to Yibin, I go to the winery to buy some wine. When I go to Maotai Town, I also do the same. When I go to Yuxi, I buy two cigarettes for my family. I think this is also a must for travel. For the small part, the large and small expenses add up to a lot, and we spent a total of 3,400 yuan in these 88 days.

Since the end of the Yellow River, we have spent a total of 41930 yuan. A five-month trip to the Yellow River cost a total of 48,700 yuan, and the next 88 days cost 41,930 yuan. In terms of our 8-month trip, the two of us spent a total of 90630 yuan.
