Doesn't it say something about the longevity and build quality of some of the PC gear of the "old days" when you can still effectively use a 486 based machine like this? Floppy drive notwithstanding. I've got an extra floppy drive (or 2... or 3...) that you're welcome to if you want it. You'd likely have to modify the case to accommodate it if you want it in the same place as the current non-functioning one. Wouldn't need more than a dremel tool and some patience.
Have to confess I don't recognize more than one or two of those screenshots, will look forward to your reviews.
I remember in the early '90s the game Privateer (tangent to the Wing Commander series) absolutely blew me away. I spent countless hours/days charting the star systems and making money ferrying supplies. It's amazing how large the game world felt, even though it was admittedly limited by today's standards. There have been modernization efforts, and a couple of them are okay but nothing quite captures the magic of playing that game on an original 486, wondering where the next secret mission would be...
