Angkor Wat was built as Hindu temples but later Hinduism was eventually faded and Angkor started to be used as buddhist temples. Angkor was considered a city at one time, Angkor Wat literally means “Temple City”, which I find insane, a coty hidden inside the jungle. Some say because of drought people started to leave Angkor and abandon it eventually. The city was literally eaten by the jungle and kinda "lost". After it existed for 400 years it was abandoned into the jungle and Thai kingdom of Ayutthaya invaded it.
