Speaking of Apples, although I have not been there in about 7 years or more, surprisingly there is a very small town about 30 or so miles east of San Diego in the mountains called Julian. You wouldn't expect it, but there is a modified, Alpine climate where it snows, deciduous trees burn brown, yellow and orange in Autumn and it feels authentically as though you really are somewhere on the East Coast this month. Southern Californians flock to the area to buy apple pies of all varieties and take in the a-typical scenery and weather. Try not to miss it if you are in California next October.

Sounds beautiful @simivalleyjeff53 I love the East Coast and all the seasons. I have not been to California in 30 years. I think I am do for a trip!
If you do so and go to Julian in the fall, you will be in for a treat.
