Authentic village in Romania turned into a top tourist destination

in #travel8 years ago

About Viscri, the retreated village, protected by the crowded road that connects Brasov to Sighisoara, it is impossible not to have heard in recent years. The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, bought a property in the area, managing to make the old isolated village and destination that everyone focused on. The history of Viscri is much older, dating from the time of the Saxons, called by the king of Hungary eight hundred years ago to defend the kingdom's borders from the turmoil.

This is how the small settlement was born, a real fortress of the word, which has retained its authenticity, resisting heroic for centuries in the face of human inclination to transform it and adapt it to modern times.Romania's star village is, due to the picturesque landscapes of the area, a haven of less than 1,000 inhabitants and houses one of the most spectacular Saxon fortified churches enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage.Even though Prince Charles was "adopted" by the locals, which made the village come to the attention of everyone, the tradition is kept unaltered at Viscri.printul-Charles-la-Viscri-29.jpg
It seems more like a story than a reality, but here peasants knit about 10,000 pairs of socks, gloves, hats, sweaters or scarves every year that are bought and appreciated by tourists around the world. The settlement works by hundreds of hundreds of years inherited from the Saxons, and the preservation of tradition is considered a sacred duty. The thermopanes or the hinting colors that have recently found their place in most of the rural settlements are completely lacking in Viscri. And the rush that cars make on the streets of other villages, here are made by the roosters and cows that come back from the sheep. This very authenticity attracted and conquered Prince Charles, who retires here and reassures his soul year after year.

Recently, the Romanian village Viscri, about which foreigners speak at the superlative, was included in the top of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world.Scriitorul Sylvie Bigar, autorul acestui top, a fost la randul sau cucerit de frumusetea si autenticitatea locului: "A small village can offer elements of adventure, novelty, beauty, and a sense of discovery of history.Faptul ca stii ca sunt acolo de atat de mult timp si nu au fost inca descoperite iti trezeste spiritul si iti aduce un sentiment de pace." "Charles Village," as Viscri is now known, is visited annually by over 15,000 tourists, most of them foreigners, taking a place on the list of traditional villages in the world.
