Laptop open, Steemit on.
I was calmly writing my posts, scanning through tags and doing some curation work as I received a text from @firepower: "Kidhar hai tu?" which translates into "Where are you?" in hindi.
Btw, I literally just learned the word slapdashing and I love it. It sounds so fun!
What does he mean, where are you? My flight is tomorrow, right?
...right?
No. Nope, it was not. I am beyond happy I received this text early enough to get ready otherwise I would've been screwed. No flight means no Kuala Lumpur. No Kuala Lumpur means no @teammalaysia Steemit Meetup. And aw hell no, I can't miss that!
I finished my food, finalized my posts and ran to the hostel as I had to arrange a teensy weensy thing: I reserved my bed up until tomorrow. (Yes, I have been thinking that my flight was a day later for I-don't-know-how-long.
Along with the amazing service from the House of Journey Hostel, I got my money refunded, packed like roadrunner, ordered an Uber and I was on my way to Penang Airport!
Or at least, that's what I thought. One thing I keep forgetting about Asia is the amount of traffic. There is literally no time during the day where the ETA of Uber is accurate as it doesn't calculate traffic. And traffic in Asia is hell. It can keep you busy for hours. Luckily for me, it kept me busy for only 40 minutes and I arrived at the airport on time.
After a rather turbulent flight of 50 minutes, I arrived in the wonderful rain of Kuala Lumpur. Yay, rain! Didn't matter much as I was going by cab anyway -- which by the way was effin' expensive.
Did you know KL Airport is like an hour drive from the city?! Who even thinks of that! Anyway, I sold one of my kidneys and jumped in the Uber to the hotel where @firepower would be eagerly waiting for me.
If you know @firepower personally, you'd also know that he has an undying addiction to selfies. So here we go, selfie number 1.
Oh FYI, I had the most magnificent sleep in this hotel ever.
You'll quickly run out of kidneys that way :p
Looking forward to meeting you at Tezpur.
Gotta do something to keep on moving, haha.
Nice meeting you today! :D You got a new follower.
Nice post @sjennon.

And yeah can't for the Tezpur meetup with @firepower sir!
Have a great day...

Where are you from exactly?
This is the second time I'm reading your post and you JUST made it in time for your transportation ;-)
I recognize from longer term traveling you forget about time / time becomes more or less meaningless :-)
Haha, yes! It was a tricky one, but I am glad my memory was refreshed :P
I do lose track of the days (monday, tuesday etc.), but generally I do know the dates. Guess this one just slipped my mind!
You look very beautiful tonight.
Why thank you
because there are piercings on the nose
Nice post. Looks good
