People travel for different reasons but one common denominator among these travellers is escapism. The breaking away, the running away from something. Whether it's stress, routine, stagnation, typicality, loneliness, unhappiness, a life that's lack of whatever, pain...Pain - every single one has a story. Some would spend longer time chasing places, breaking their compass venturing even the less-travelled paths, and to some it even becomes a way of life, still to most it's a vacation- a meantime date with freedom, a brief visit to fantasy land where nothing else matters but the beauty of life.

Seeing new horizons and getting to know places, even those you've already been to, can still leave you surprised. The moment you begin, the desire to stop fades along with the reasons you started this journey in the first place. You discover life on the road is a dream you thought you never had. And while so much of it can mistakenly get you labeled a drifter, vagabond, someone going through some intellectual crisis, or scrambling through the aftermath of some life-changing event, and be often asked the million dollar question, ''What is your plan?" , yet you find yourself experiencing the peace and calmness you hadn't had in a long time. Maybe this is where you wanna be. Maybe the plan is for you to find a way to live that's different from others. Different from what you've tried, different from the blueprint you have always strived to achieve.

In every choice we make, there is always a price to pay - nothing is free, even peace of mind. Sometimes choosing the unconventional way brings out the features in you you thought you didn't have or could never learn, then sustain you in doing what it is that you love.

We all have a choice on which price we want to pay, and there is always a responsible way of making such choices. To me, there is nothing more priceless than calmness and peace of mind. And if to achieve that begins with a lot of crossroads, bumpy rides and insect- infested route, or rides i will have to endlessly bargain, borders i'm gonna have to beg for crossing, lose my way, I will drop my anchor on every shore worth kissing. And maybe, just maybe, I'll finally outgrow escapism.

Until then, if you'll excuse me, i have a bus to catch.

Excellent article, I am on it those people who Tackle Problems head-on I suppose to Using escapism, But this article opened my eyes to other alternatives Very well written

Thanks @tokoya. we do need to escape sometimes and it's only a bad thing if we do not channel our next step positively. In every escape we do, from whatever it is that's hindering us from growth, we're neither stopping nor quitting. there is a goal which is to regroup and gear our heads towards clarity and in the process, we might just discover a path we never knew existed. the idea is, never be too anxious to slow down or take a break altogether or that break might just become a start of something different. Life is a big adventure after all.
