When Buddha attained the real truth, there were Buddha’s disciples. In Buddhism they were called as the Arhats. In this perspective, the 12 Apostles in Christianity were very similar to the Arhats in Buddhism.
I had already posted the meaning of the Arhats before, but here I’d like to introduce you the praying place for those Arhats. Nahan is the translation of Arhat in Korean language.
So the name of the building is ‘Nahan-Jeon’.
At first, the calligraphy on Nahan-Jeon is so artful. The writing style of Nahan-Jeon front board is quite different from that of other temples.
And patterns of the doors were so wonderful. It’s design and the skill made estimate that those patterns were the representative in Choson Dynasty.
It was permitted to photography inside of this Nahan-Jeon.

The important figures were displayed on the altar. And there were hundreds of Bodhisattvas behind of Arhats.
All figures were smiling, but the expressions of the face were slightly different each other.
It seems that the signal of the realization in the smile.
Fantastic.....
It is fascinating how there is a relationship between Buddhism and Christianity.
Just as Buddha had followers who were then his apostles, Christ had his disciples who then became his apostles and ambassadors for the world of his teachings.
Thanks for sharing with us your knowledge and these beautiful photos. I would love to learn more about this culture.
@slowwalker, Another great vision I see from Nahan-Jeon in Keumsan-sa Temple. There are some traditional writing style on the wall. Also pretty impressive wall patterns there. I every time told you that, I'm wondering and happiness to see their architectural roof and door designs. Especially patterns of the doors amazing and gorgeous.
Congrats and better news to us for seeing fabulous creativity. Also so many Bodhisattvas figures inside the temple with various characteristic expressions. Absolutely brilliant photography collection you uploaded and I can get massive idea from it. Triple gem bless you.
@slowwalker,
A lot of statues and I think this building is well secured from all invasions! Otherwise it's hard to see those statues in this way!
I feel your articles are a great archaeological reference for all Korean students! Thanks for sharing!

the architecture and artist beauty of the Buddhist culture is synonymous with the tranquil spirituality it represented. Thank @slowwalker for the post today.
This is so amazing. Thanks for this wonderful knowledge shared..🙌🙌
The steps and walls with the marvelous stonework leading up looks extremely inviting. Why does that rooftop look so peaceful and friendly to me? It is like it is smiling.
I've never seen a place like this before! It's really wonderful! Those details of the flowers pattern are something really precious, I can't image how mush time the artisans/artists needed to do it, but everything looks so special there! Thanks to share this praying place with us! ^_^

Very beautiful photo. I do not cease to be surprised by the beauty of Korean culture. Good luck to you and Love.
If all smiling then it can make all happy :))
Buddhist temples are different. Hanging from the ceiling on slips of paper written mantras.
The place where the temple is located looks really beautiful, plus it feels incredible tranquility, what the patterns look like very well and the design is very creative.
One doubt that came to me from your post is about Buddhism and Christianity and I hope not to be disrespectful but which of the two religions came first? and all Koreans believe only in Buddhism?
Awesome photography
