The next temple I’d like to stop by after Tongdo-sa was Beopjoo-sa temple located in Choongcheongbukdo province in the center of the South Korea. The mountain surrounding Beopjoo-sa temple is Sokree-san. And Beopjoo-sa Temple was listed by the UNESCO.
The name of mountain Sokree has a meaning in Buddhist manner. It means that ‘leaving this reality or current situation what we must to face with. In this respect, Buddhism in Korea seemed to be deeply influenced by Taoism.
It was hot summer day when I dropped by Beopjoo-sa temple.
I needed to walk for minutes to enter into the temple.
The entrance area was very well cared for by the local national park office.
What made me interesting was the area of the sculptures.
It was unexpected there were those sculptures along the entrance road to the temple.
I took the pics among them as below
The subject was about love and women. But the nude sculptures in front of Buddhist Temple were not so strange strangely.
As passing through the sculptures, there was a way covered with the green leaves.

Hey @slowwalker, thank you for sharing your experience of visiting Beopjoo-sa temple. Many historical heritage buildings or places are under UNESCO protection and that is really good, I do not think along those unique historical place would be able to survive because. Seeing those sculptures, I would think some of them relatively young, as it was more realism wide spread in past but there are some quite abstract too. In some places this done to attract more people because as you know we are all different have different interests and if there are who are fans of the artists whose works presented there, they visit that place but because of situation also visit Beopjoo-sa temple. I would be curious to see the picture of the temple :)
Very beautiful the road and all the sculptures exhibited in your photos @slowwalker, also every place you visit shows us that touch of warmth and complete tranquility that is reflected in every photo that you publish and I like that a lot, besides that you show us part of the history of your beautiful country. 🤗
Very beautiful sculptures, but, your photos are even more beautiful. It is possible to distinguish among them the most beautiful, in my opinion each of them could be the first to become the main one in your article.
