Who didn’t LOVE the show LOST!?! On a trip to Oahu, Hawaii…we were destined to find the BEACH set that we had watched on our televisions screens for the past 6 years!
I’ll never forget how DIFFICULT it was to actually find the LOST location! The show was mid-season and they were reportedly filming the finale on Oahu during our visit in January, 2010.
We were home in California preparing for our trip and frantically searching Google for a HINT that would lead us to The Beach where the wreckage would be. Low and behold it was tucked away on some chat forum where we read how someone had also found the location and had shared directions! It was completely vague, but we figured this would be nothing short of an adventure and a great story to tell. At least if we had this map with a idea of the area and asked the locals for some help too, we might just find it!
Our vacation had come and after arriving in Oahu, we rented a jeep and set off heading East on the island to Police Beach.
We pulled our jeep down a small road lined with really big homes and found the beach access road which we had heard about. We walked a mile down to the beach and thought we had absolutely gone the wrong way as we were so close to so homes, but sure enough it was the right way!
As we rounded a bend and come over a dune we found the Plane Crash scene of the show! There was orange fencing around still, but no security guard like we had read about.
If you remember, in the Season Finale, the cast returns to the LOST beach and it was pretty tattered looking.
