The Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland is close to Skye, a very famous destination for both 'foreign' tourists as people from the UK themselves. It's the reason why we didn't enter the castle: from a few meters away this castle is gorgeous, but once you cross the bridge you suddenly feel trapped in a tourist destination.
Since I still liked the image of the castle, we walked a bit around it. The first picture I showed you of Eilean Donan Castle a few weeks ago was taken from the car park: a lot of grey tones, water, not a lot of color in it.
Because we walked a bit further we got to see the castle from the other side. Suddenly I have the castle with a variation of colors and tones in the foreground.
Two images, same castle. It's why the best tip a photographer can follow-up is: first walk around, get to know a place, then take pictures.
(But I myself am often way too impatient for that.)

I've been there. It's astonishing!
Really where is it located
It's located near Isle of Skye in Scotland :-)
Really astonishing dear.
It truly is! Glad you were able to visit it too <3
So astonishing
Thank you!
Looks like a good place to film a movie
Yes, I guess it would be great to make a movie here :-)

Nice one 👍🏼
Awesome and well written, Thanks for sharing
I enjoy your choice of being a bit farther from the castle to take the picture. Nice seeing the field before it like that. All the castles in Scotland have to be so cool to see!
Thanks for your comment @snrm! :-) Oh man, I LOVE the castles in Scotland! I used to dread visiting castles since for me a lot of them look alike, especially those who now are a 'museum' of sorts. But those 'real' ruin like castles in pretty landscapes: they work for me! :-)

extremely beautiful pic! :)
Thanks a lot @meertcevik! :-)
the castle is beautiful...!!!
indeed
Wow! Gosh, so incredible. I want to visit!
<3 YES! Do it!
Scotland is on top of my must visit list, I just fell in love with it by looking at photos from other people, internet or watching documentary and films/series. You're so lucky, that castle is must see, beutiful scenery. Great photo! :)
Thanks a lot @lensational! I can imagine it's on top of your list! It actually is one of the best countries to visit: gorgeous, not too big (you can see a lot), English is spoken, food is 'comfy' and the people are just lovely! If you ever go contact me for tips! :-)
I defenitly will! Thank you! :)
I love travelling ! Very well written ! Make sure to check my profile for upcoming photography :)
Yes! Traveling is amazing! Your photos look great, so hope to see more of it!
Great way to compose the shot. Nice way to use the foreground to lead us to the subject. I hope I get to see this someday.. thanks for sharing @soyrosa
Thank you @thejotographer :-) Yes, the foreground here was of great use! I hope you will be able to visit it someday, I'm sure you would take gorgeous pictures here as well :-)
Amazing place, I also posted some photos from there a couple of weeks ago. The colours revealed at low tide are amazing :-)
I see the post @nathen007! So cool you've been there too :-) The colours were mindblowing indeed, such a grey surroundings, suddenly colourful :-)
This is magical! I've always wanted to go to Scotland, and especially Skye. You captured a misty, moody moment, and such a bright palate of colour in the foreground!
Ohhh YES! I think Skye is really beautiful, but also full of tourists, while there are still so many places in Scotland that remain untouched! So visit Skye, but also visit outside of Skye :-) Recommended!
I have places I want to visit all over Scotland. I wrote Duart castle (Isle of Mull) into one of my books but have never been there, so that's high on the list, too. :)
Amazing photos. Somehow something that is supposed to be gloomy looks photo perfect with all that orange based tones!
Yes, thank you @etraveller! :-) I find it cool the somberness is still visible while I would still hang it on my wall to brighten up the room ;-)
Wow, amazing photo, as you say wonderful colours! And such a cool place, looks spooky and mystic.
I often take to many photos instead, lol. I shoot first and look second :D
Haha! If you are still able to select your best shots and not share the others you'll do fine @kerlund74! I guess a lot of 'photographers' are not able to know which shots are good and which are not, so I find it one of the most important skills a photographer should develop :-)
on my "Visit someday list"
Hope you'll be able to go soon! :-)
I love stately homes/castles and this looks incredible.
Although I'm with you ~ probably better from a distance without the swarming hoards!
Wonder what you think to some of my photographs 'chez moi'?
Would love your thoughts.
xox
Thank you @ldacey-laforge!
Yes, the hoards are to be avoided for sure!
I'll check out your pictures soon and leave a comment :-)
It looks so beautiful, as if it's part of a fairy tale.
Thank you! Maybe I should create a fairy tale photo book :-)
It's like something out of an Arthurian legend.
Very nice, what a magical looking place. Thanks for sharing! Upvoted. :)
Looks amazing 😎
Beautiful photographs!
