Talk about pink?
If you go to my previous post, and notice the reflection in the windows, you can see the brick house with red front doors in this window, so literally I walked about three steps between those two shots.
Yes, that means this little street was packed with houses that grab the attention, and I didn't really have to go far to see something interesting.
Which was good - as this was a day where I actually needed to rest as the pain in my feet was killing me from all the walking the days before, and I just couldn't really seem to recover, even though the day before we had booked a fancy hotel just so I could soak in a huge bathtub for a day.
Yes, traveling with limited mobility remains a huge challenge, and it changes the way you travel for sure, as even while booking you already have to think: "We have 3 full days, is that enough? What if 1 or 2 days are non-walking days? Should we book one day more?"
It makes me, and therefore us, slow travelers, my boyfriend and I. He sometimes goes for his own walks when I really can't do much, but I have to push him to do so, as he doesn't want to leave me alone for too long.
Well, give me a bathtub and I won't miss company for a few hours, I can tell you that!
Soaking, soaking, soaking...
Well, anyway, after that day of soaking I had to go outside again. Which is why we did this small street, and this small street only. And back to the hotel - which is worth a post in itself, such a pleasant stay we had there!
What a remarkable building. I checked your previous posts to see where you stayed.
Nijmegen isn't a city a lot of foreign tourists go to. Its a beautiful city though. What made you decide to go there?
-edit-
Or are you a Dutchie too 😀
Haha, yes I'm a Dutchie too @friendlymoose! :D So the reason I want is because I wanted to go on a Holiday in our own country and just never go past Utrecht much (real 'Randstedeling' here :D)
Haha. Ik dacht het pas nadat ik mijn comment had getikt.
I'm also from 'the randstad' but we have a caravan near Apeldoorn since last year, so we visited the same cities there.
Did you also visit Zutphen? That's also a beautiful 'hanzestad'.
Hahaha - Oh, supernice! Having a 'second place', very nice to have, especially during the Corona times.
I didn't visit Zutphen yet, but it's on my list :-) Nijmegen and Deventer really were the first for me, lots to see still :D
WOW - this house catches the eye!
But I'm sure it needs new color every year too to look like this.
Hopefully, in the end, you could enjoy your stay even though you had pain again.
HIVE ON!!!
P.S.: now I'll check you previous post :)
:D Yes I was able to enjoy my stay very much, pain is part of it, I sort of learn to calculate opportunities around it :D
Good to see you here @pundito! Long time no 'see'. Hope you're well :-)
Indeed - the last thing I read from you was that you would post less if I remember correctly ... a long time ago :)
Now I saw these nice posts and was happy I found them :)
Hehe - yes! I'm sort of 'free' from the studies for a bit, am studying but no classes, so a bit less strain on the mind :-) I thought I'd take the chance and share a few posts here now I can! :D
beautiful and amazing house
