Let me first introduce Boracay Island, Is there any thalassophile who does not know or heard Boracay Island? If there's thalassophile who haven't known Boracay, I doubt it because it is very famous around the world.
Boracay is a small island in the Philippines located in Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Boracay Island and its beaches have received awards from numerous travel publications and agencies.
Apart from its white sand beaches, it is also famous for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation.

I have been there in Boracay year 2012 with my family and relatives, I am not really a beach lover and a swimmer that's why I never swim to the beach.

Call me crazy or boring person but I found it an ordinary beach because I am not really a beach lover, but I appreciates the beauty of the sea, the beauty of white sand, the beauty of nature, and the beauty of establishments and hotels.
As being one of the world's top destinations, what can you say about the very hot issue now in the Philippines about the Closure or Shutdown plans in Boracay Island?
Residents, tourists, employees, hotel and resort owners on Boracay Island led an eight-minute lights switch-off on Saturday night, 17th day of March 2018 to protest the 1-year shutdown of Boracay Island.
The usual nightly parties in the island were halted as the lights went off by the hotels, resorts and establishments as they participates in protest gathered at the beachfront.
Hundreds of employees together with other tourists and residents went out at the beach front to show dramatize of their unity against the planned shutdown.
President Rodrigo Duterte had also expressed concern about the impact of total closure of Boracay on small-time beach and business operators in the island.
"President might consider the request of small resort owners that could be hurt by the closure of Boracay. He will be fair and will not act on the basis of political considerations,” Harry Roque said, the President's spokesman
Senators asked the government not to push through with its plan to temporarily shut down Boracay Island, warning the administration that such a move could displace some 17,000 to 30,000 workers.
The full closure of Boracay could also shut down our local tourism industry and will have a devastating economic impact on the businesses and workers who rely on the island for their livelihood.
Rather than closing the Boracay, the local government and concerned national agencies should simply ensure compliance with relevant laws, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and Solid Waste Management Act. Total closure will only worsen the poverty and unemployment would rise.

President Duterte ordered closure because of poor sewerage system and the island becomes polluted.
Recommended the total closure of island resort for one year to give way for its full rehabilitation.
I am against those violators, especially those who are destroying the island and they must be punished according to the law, but one problem would not solve another problem. Just find and make a solution than creating more chaos, the solution must be fair to all.
We must protect the environment while protecting the livelihood of the people and economy as well by implementing the strict law and those who will abide the law will be punished.
The government made the right decision, 1 year is nothing. We should think long term solution to have a long term beautiful island and a long term tourist hub.

So sad that this beautiful island is facing that problem right now. People need to be more knowledgeble on how this beautiful place be taken care of. We are the only one who will suffer when our mother nature became angry. So its better to take some action on how to protect this island.
