Yesterday my colleague and I went exploring. We took the new tram across the city to the old town. This is surrounded by high walls. Once inside you are in a maze of narrow streets. Some of these are covered over. They are filled with small shops, but most were boarded up for the night.
The old town is split between various faiths and there were lots of signs of Christmas with lights and decorations. This one said Merry Christmas.
We found our way to the West Wall which is one of the holiest places for Jews. It wasn't particularly busy, but there were plenty of men and women praying in the segregated areas.
You can certainly feel the history here. This wall is about 3000 years old and this is where various faiths believe that our world started. I'm not a believer, but I am interested in history. This is where the bible stories I heard as a kid took place.
I thought it would be appropriate to have some local food, so we found a small place that served humous and falafel. A tasty and filling meal.
We plan to return there tomorrow morning to explore some more. It's likely to be much busier.
Good post, you get my upvote. Thanks for the sharing and namaste :)

That place is beautiful. I hope that one day I can go visit it.
Dude! I would love to go. So historic. I am really jealous! Have a great time (and post more pictures)
It's a shame I'm not here longer, but I'll make the most of the experience.
Stunning post!
