This is a picture from my trip to Iceland. On a hike in Vatnajökull National Park I saw this glacier and was stunned by it's mightiness. 🗻🇮🇸😲

Beautiful photo, when was this taken? I visited last February 2018 and all there were more ice and hints of blue, but it was very saddening and alarming. Iceland is running out of ice!

Did you also walk on the glacier? I did this with a local tour guide. It was stunning.Hi @ericago, I took the picture in the summer of 2016, but I was also there last year. It's really fascinating how the glacial ice varies from time to time, but the overall tendency is alarming. 😔
We did do a little trek away from the glaciers because we did not want to take a risk! That would've been beautiful though!! 😊
