The AMNH is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. It is a couple of blocks away from the subway station and right across the street from the Central Park. It is one of the largest museums in the world.

There are 28 interconnected buildings housing 45 permanent exhibition halls, in addition to a planetarium and a library in the museum.
The museum collections contain over 33 million things that the museum owns, of which only a small fraction can be displayed at any given time. Even that small fraction will take you more than 2 hours to see.
There is a food court for hungry visitors, and two Cafés are located in the first and the fourth floor. Coat check is free but you may have to pay for bags and umbrellas. Photos are allowed as long as they were taken for personal use. The Museum is open daily from 10 am–5:45 pm and tickets are available onsite or online. Ticket prices can be seen here:
