We travel, some of us forever.
We travel to relax, to discover, to live the adventure or for the simple need of change. Any of these cases broaden our horizons, make us richer in life and experiences. They make us free!
In my last blog post I asked you where you thought I was going, and reading your answers now was pretty fascinating and inspiring!
The most frequent bet was Hawaii, and that was actually a quite smart one. Hawaii and the place where I actually traveled to have a lot in common!
Hawaii is the only US state composed entirely of islands, its diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, oceanic surroundings and active volcanoes make it a very popular travel destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists.
That's one in a million!
Now my home for the weekend also fulfills all of these characteristics. It's Las Palmas (Isle of Gran Canaria), the capital of Canary Islands.
My flight was only 45 minutes long, yet it took me into a completely different world. Now stay tuned for my travel reports, they're gonna be full of amazing, delicious and suprising experiences :-)

One of my biggest wishes is to travel to Hawaii.
I remember when I was a kid, and from movies, books, etc. Hawaii looked like a heaven on earth.
From what I can see on the pictures, Las Palmas looks great, too.
It would be really nice to travel to that place as it's not that far away from Croatia as Hawaii islands are.

I'm not sure if there are direct flights from Croatia to Canary Islands, but according to the geographical distance it would supposedly be a ~4 hours flight.
I doubt there are direct flights from Croatia, but if I'd go, I'd go to Spain and then to Canary Islands.
I went from Spain to Croatia with plane... I don't quite remember the time it took me to get there, but it was less than 1 hour for sure.
Enjoy the sweet staying at the Canarian Island, sure you will have a good time. I hope you could catch some Nice waves.
In the old town you will find some cosy restaurants and a lot of culture and history.
Take good care and embrace the surrounding!
I still haven't caught any waves after my illness, but hopefull I'll be able to give it a first try next weekend. We had a blast in Las Palmas including some nice food - my next blog post's gonna be about "tapas" :-)

Travelling is like living freely, to breathe in freedom, to explore new things and the most important one is to satisfy yourself.

I can't even speak Hawaiian, but if you go there and listen to a Hawaiian song, you get captured because it's so beautiful, like the melody is just gorgeous and you know Bob Marley is on the radio every single day. It's very reggae-influenced down there. Basically, you haven't been to paradise if you haven't been to Hawaii.
