If you are Buddhist, you may want to travel to Nepal once in your life because it’s the country where the Lord Buddha was born.
The Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini which was the famous garden. Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage center at present. It is considered as “the sacred area and one of the most holy and significant places for one of the world’s great religions”. (https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/666/_)
You will see the golden statue of the baby Lord Buddha that looks outstanding and I think the statue acts as a symbol of the place as well.
In Lumbini, you will also find the “sandstone pillar” with the Pali inscription in Brahmi script. It was erected by the Indian emperor Ashoka.
Lumbini is also one of the tourist attractions. The place is well managed and beautiful with surrounding nature.
I would like to visit it one day!
