Pai Memorial Bridge, in Mae Hong Son, in the North of Thailand

Pai Memorial Bridge is situated near Pai Canyon. It is a plain, small, old wooden and metallic bridge, but it has interesting history.

It was built in World War II. The main purpose was to transport foods, goods or weapons to Japanese army base in Myanmar. After the war finished, Japanese soldiers burnt it. The bridge that you can see now is the one that local Thai people rebuilt.

If you are the one who love history, you would love to visit this bridge to touch the atmosphere and imagine what’s going on there during the war….

In the meantime, if you are nature lover as me, the nice surrounding nature can impress you!

You will see pleasant view down the small river. I think, it would be serene and peaceful moment to watch the river gradually flow.

Besides, the rice fields around the area look green and refreshing.

The mountains view at the background is also amazing.

It’s unfortunate that there are a lot of electric lines that make the photos not beautiful as they could be…. So sorry for this!

Anyway, I think, you may see this bridge with wonderful surrounding area by your own eyes one day! ;)

The last picture what I love the most. The sun rays through the dark cloud... very beautiful indeed :).
You wrote lately a lot about north Thailand. Were you visiting this region recently?
How is it actually the trip in Thailand using train?
Is there any comfortable train service, or would you still prefer fly although you have enough time?

Yeah! I love the sun rays through the dark clouds in the last picture, too.

Ah! I personally like to travel to the North of Thailand, especially, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son. My father drove us there by his own car when he’s alive. That’s very long time ago. These photos that I presented in several posts came from my brother’s trip in January this year…. ;)

I usually used train when I went back to my hometown in the South of Thailand in the past. It's lucky that nowadays some trains have comfortable service. (Although it may not good as in Europe) I myself love to travel by train as I can see beautiful scenery of the countryside throughout the trip. It may slowest way or take many hours, but it can create happy moment while travelling indeed.

I much appreciate for your nice comment and for your great support to my works! Please accept my sincere thanks for your kindness. ;)
