Apart from Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan that I presented to you via my previous post, Wat Phai Rong Wua is another temple that I would like to recommend you to visit. This is one of the famous temples of Suphanburi, Thailand, too! There are many Buddhist sites which are very interesting.
Wat means temple
Phai means bamboo
Rong Wua means the place where people keep their cows (Wua means cow)
In the old days, this area was bamboo forest and people usually kept their cows there. This temple was named after this…
The temple is situated in a very large area. You can walk around with fun and no boring because there are many statues which are amazing! Besides, all architectures here also are elaborate.
In the first picture, you will see the largest stucco Buddha image in the world. I think this is the symbol of this temple. You can see the Buddha image from the far distance…. Ah! Amazing sun!
The following picture is a pagoda which is simulated from Buddhathaya, India. It’s the place where our Buddha had enlightenment in India.
The below picture is the birthplace of the Buddha at Lumpini Park. It’s simulated from India, too.
You will see beautiful architecture of the old buildings.....
The picture below is the biggest gong in the world.
There are a lot of bells over there.
And many statues of monks!
There is a fish pond and you will see cute turtles like this one….. Here, I think you will enjoy feeding them!
The below dog is lying comfortably on the ground in this temple. She looks so kind. We usually call those dogs that live in the temple as “Mah Wat” or the dog of the Wat.
As you can see, Wat Phai Rong Wua is not only the place where you can worship the Buddha images, but it also a place where you can relax with those amazing things and beautiful nature!
You are all welcome! ;))
Nice turtle. :)
Yeah! You’re right! The turtle is very cute and I really love it.
Thank you so much for your kindness and great support to my works….. ;))
Keep up the awesome work loving all the photos, I like the Buddha statue with the sun over his head.
I like that photo, too! Thanks so much for your nice comment! ;)
No problem, glad to see you are starting to take more and more of your own photos.
That's very nice of you! ;)
I would like to see the world's largest gong. As well as the rest of the beauty and features of the temple. So alive with history and architecture, and as you say, a great place to hang out and relax on a sunny day as well. Plus, there's a turtle. I love turtles ( :
Thanks for sharing more of your culture with us, and explaining it so well. I really like how you tell us what the names mean. Have a nice night.
Thanks so much for your nice comment! I'm really happy to know that you like the temple. It's a relaxing place with those beautiful things indeed..... I'm glad you love turtles, too.
It's good to know that you found the meaning of the names interesting and it would be great if you can say Thai words very soon...... ;))
I will work on that, but the pronunciation would probably make you wince. The idea you put these out for us to learn is nice, and makes the posts more meaningful.
I used to have pet turtles when I was a kid. Very small ones. They always seemed to run off from their bowls. Goofy little turltes. But at least they were protected from the cat, with their portable houses. Have a nice day today.
(Sorry, my vote pitcher has run dry...)
I'm glad to hear that you will work on that.... That'll be very great! I'm happy that you like my idea....but I just would like to present simple Thai words that we normally use in daily life. When you visit Thailand, you will be familiar with those words...and know the meaning well.... ;))
Merry Christmas to you and your family! ;)
