After suffering the devastation caused by the tsunami in 2004 in some of its areas including its tourism spots, Aceh again rose and rearranged its tourism sector well.

The mosque built by Sultan Iskandar Muda in 1612 has become an icon of Aceh. The main building of the mosque is white with a large black dome surrounded by seven towers. The impression is more pronounced with the existence of a large pool and a water fountain at the front of the mosque that reminiscent of the Taj Mahal in India.

This mosque became a religious tourism place in Aceh which is visited for its beauty. The Huffington Post site includes the Baiturrahman Great Mosque in the list of 100 most beautiful mosques in the world, even Yahoo! called this mosque as one of the 10 most beautiful mosques in the world. This is of course increasingly making people proud of Aceh and Indonesia.

You can also rent a fishing boat to sail in the sea or sit back on the edge of the beach enjoying roasted corn. From the beach, you can see the rows of mountains across which add to the beauty of Ulee Lheue Beach.
