Knez Mihailova Street is the main street of Belgrade, pedestrian zone, shopping center and street protected by law as one of the oldest and most valuable city monumental ambiences, with many representative buildings and houses built in the late 1970s. The pedestrian zone is about 800 meters long, full of shops and cafes. At the end of the pedestrian zone there is the Belgrade fortress Kalemegdan, about which I wrote yesterday (https://steemit.com/travel/@tasjun/kalemegdan-belgrade-fortress-military-museum-history-photos).
This is the first street in Belgrade that got its name and has not changed it to this day. The street carries the name of Prince Mihailo Obrenovic, who was killed in the assassination of Kosutnjak in 1868, and whose monument is located on the plateau on the Republic Square.
Take a look at my photo gallery of this street and enjoy!
This is one of the side streets leading to Knez Mihailova Street.
