Mostar

After spending two great days in Sarajevo, I left the city in the early morning to head to another amazing place in Bosnia. Mostar is one of the best places in Balkans. The city is famous for its famous old bridge that you can see in the photo above. When it is combined with the green area, incredible river and nice small houses, it seems like the heaven on the earth.

I am really happy with my decision by coming to Mostar after Sarajevo. I should thank to all my supporters on steemit who appreciate my posts. I am here on this amazing holiday, funded by STEEMIT thanks to upvotes I have got! It took two hours to get to the amazing city of Mostar. I was planning to stay in this paradise for 1 day, but after the warm welcoming by the owner of the hostel I am staying at the moment, I decided to extend my staying here which means I will stay here more.

I don't prefer to stay in hotels as everything is so strict and it is really hard to socialize with other people, so hostels and couchsurfing are perfect to make your stay more enjoyable. They are not expensive at all, I have paid just 7 euros for tonight. I highly recommend you to stay in hostels and use couchsurfing.

Paradise on the earth

Even though Mostar is really small, it manages to get the attention of tourists from all over the world. To be honest, when I compared the cities, Sarajevo and Mostar, Mostar is much better than the capital. It is more cosy and lively. When I got to my hostel, I was welcomed with the nice image of the old bridge on the wall.

It is the main symbol of city. It managed to preserve its original from until it had been destroyed by Croatians in the war, but after that, it was rebuilt again, being turned into its original form.Mostar has got two sides of the city. Even though it is officially a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is a clear distinction on both sides of the bridge.

On the left side of the city, majority of the population are muslims while the other part is mostly with orthodoxs. This is something left from the war between Croatians and Bosnians. Even though the city is under the power of same government, many people say that there is a huge separation between societies which is really sad indeed

Narrow streets

The city is full of narrow streets and colorful houses. There are many shops where you can buy some souvenirs and try some traditional food. Food here has really good quality, they are not so different for me as Bosnia and many other balkan countries share the same culture with us since all this part of the world was ruled by Ottoman Empire for many years, so we are so welcomed here

If you ever visit this country, I would highly recommend you to try their traditional coffee, cevapciçi and burek. You can find them in many restaurants and bakeries as local people love them a lot, I am just like one of them. Mostar is really unique city as orthodox and muslim people live together. It is possible to see their praying places inside the city which is a typical thing in Bosnia.

Simplicity

Life seems so peaceful here, especially when I compare my life in my city with the life here. I guess, I would love to start a new life here If I had a chance to have a living here. When you look at the photos of its amazing nature, I am sure you will all agree with me. The city is divided into two parts with the river flowing along the both side of the town. There are many small cafes on both sides of it.

When I look at the streets and general view of it, I can say that it is mostly used for touristic needs now. Local people manage their finances with the gatherings from tourists coming from different parts of Europe and the World. It is possible to take photos of the old bridge from different angles, I checked every single point of the city to get the best views.

There are still many parts of the city that I couldn't discover. It is not only about the old bridge. This city has faced with some great tragedies because of the war between Muslim, Serbians and Croatians. There are many cementries in the city like you can see in other parts of Bosnia. I will have a chance to check them out as well.

Life

I will be traveling more in the following days and of course spread all experience I get through these amazing days. Once again, I can't believe that I am on holidays thanks to my posts on Steemit. That is a great feeling! I will stay for a few more days in Mostar before going to Novi Sad and Belgrade. I sometimes think that I should leave everything behind and go on adventure as much as I want.

Life is good If you know how to enjoy it!
