The Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is one of the main ports of Spain. There, more than one million visitors a year disembark from the numerous cruises arriving in the Canary Islands. It is also a commercial, fishing and sports port.
The project of union of the port and the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife was entrusted to the famous Swiss architects Herzog and De Meuron, who would also be in charge of the remodeling of the entire port complex to turn it into a modern international cruise terminal.
This important Spanish port has 4 docks: (1) Anaga dock, composed of 4 docks used generally for the traffic of cruises and ferries; (2) East Dock, consisting of 2 docks and a dock for the loading, unloading and transshipment of merchandise; (3) Fishing Basin, used by fishing and sports vessels; and (4) Los Llanos dock, consisting of a dock and a dock used for special traffic, rest and crew exchange and also as a shipyard.
