THE BUCKINGHAM FOUNTAIN
The fountain was donated to the city by Kate Buckingham in memory of her brother, Clarence Buckingham, and was constructed at a cost of $750,000. The fountain's official name is the Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain.
One of the most magnificent beautiful place to visit and take amazing pictures. It is one of the larges fountains in the world. Build in rococo wedding cake style and inspired by the Latona Fountain at Palace of Versailles, it is meant to allegorically represent Lake Michigan.
The fountain was designed by Edward H. Bennett.
The statues were created by Marcel F. Loyau.
And when your done at the fountain you can walk over to the Harrison stop and take the redline to Uptown. If it is a third Sunday during the season, you can always find me there. Lots and lots of things to look at!
