Long time ago I watched an interview with some of the founders. I found the video and looked up the name of the community: Tamera (https://www.tamera.org). Unfortunately they seem to have no Steemit profile.

No I have absolutely no experience! I've only listened to an 2 hours long interview with two of their members. They and their community seemed nice but a tiny bit weird as well. But that can be something positive as well :)
But I can't say anything more about them. But maybe it's worth a travel.
