RE: Susolovka. Life goes on!

in #travel6 years ago

Okay, firstly, this is a sweet little hamlet in the middle of snow en masse. Really cute yet structured humans can be to go and live in places that shouldn't be lived in but we decided that a little snow like this was child's play. Especially with the fact that people nonchalantly move about or don't wear snow gear that more global periphery and equator-line people would put on (albeit they would me more resilient by virtue of the things they face everyday than say a Global North person who wasn't a Slav or snow-weather enthusiast). Also TRAINS! Gotta love trains, especially when they travel in snow-blanketed areas like the Trans-Siberian areas. (Which yes I know this is in Russia, why do yah think I decided to mention that?)

Unto the fotos (photos) themselves: gosh I am god damn broken record or everyone is in a conspiracy of having really good cameras. I say this because hot damn (okay now that was a slip of the tongue because it's probably for yah: "cold heavens")! These fotos (photos) while not helped by the snow are clear and capture tons of detail, feels very much more like a window (especially the ones with dividers) I can use to enter into the area and have fun with the snow and make snow angels and captures much of the silent but once-lively atmosphere despite the decay and abandoned structures that are present. Then of course there's the entire scene with school kids and having fun with the snow around (not a common sight were I live, damn schools punishing people for playing with snow!); just all so cute and very detailed to the collapsing parts of the snow even!

Unto the formatting: I love the massive foto (photo) to text ratio, a good trend because these fotos (photos) can actually tell a story. The text, though a bit less than appropriate for this post (first time I had to say this, I must be losing myself!), is definitely appropriate and reflects/captures the readers thoughts very well into words. While also providing necessary context of the area and just the beauty of it as well, in spite of snow and abandoned/decayed/rotten structures here and there that do make a present image standing out.

So congratulations on the @curie upvote, keep on snapping picturas (pictures) and happy steeming!

I work as a press photographer in a local district newspaper and am in the most remote places. During the work I have seen a lot and for me this is the most usual and familiar sight picture.

Thank you for you mention and feedback!

Welcome for the comment! ~^^~
And that’s cool of yah, thanks again for sharing the post again.
