This is the first chapter of my 3.5 weeks Thailand and Bali Solo-trip!
It started with a very comfortable overnight direct flight from Zurich to Bangkok, followed by a very cheap domestic flight and a ferry from BKK to the Island Koh Phangan. All in all it took me around 26hours.
Sunset on the ferry from Surat Thani to Koh PhanganThe Island is known for it's monthly Full Moon Beach Party, however they also celebrate the Half Moon Party and some other monthly festivals. The reason to visit this island was because of this party though I wasn't visiting Thailand just to party..
On the Island I was not disappointed: I met very friendly people in my resort and rented a scooter the next day. Thats a must have in Thailand and it's super cheap, just be a little bit careful when driving at night!

The Full Moon Party
- After visiting the Island with the scooter, eating enough Thai food and enjoying the resort the day of the big festival finally came. I went with a nice group of 9 South American travelers to the main beach by taxi and didn't take much with me than money. Nearly instantly we lost each other because it was so overcrowded 😂 Nevertheless we met each other the next morning in the resort and probably all had a gigantic night. I just remember some nice fire shows, free drinks everywhere and very open minded people from all over the world.
- I'm not the ultimate festival guy and I don't drink a lot, but when you want to have a special kind of party, this is the right choice for you :)
Days 1-4 are over now..
Best
Timo
