EXPLORING HIDDEN CAVES IN VIETNAM

On my latest Southeast Asian adventure, my last stop was Vietnam. The first city we flew into was Danang, where I had NO idea what to expect. We got to our hotel, and had no plans for the next day - we saw a brochure with some cool looking pictures (who knows if those are ever really true...), but we got excited and booked a 7am tour the next day for "Marble Mountain".

The next morning, everything went as planned and we were sitting in the tour bus with 10 other people. We arrived at this mountain and had to climb up lots of steps...and I mean ALOT - it felt like I was on the StairMaster! But, when we reached the top, there were amazing sights and lots of hidden caves to explore.

We saw a beautiful view of the city of Danang, with huge waves crashing on the beaches below and the infrastructure of the city surrounding us. Then, we began to go into different caves and each had different sculptures and statues and temples (mostly of Buddha). Some of these statues were carved out of the caves we were in, which was very hard to believe.

I'm pretty sure the brochure we booked the tour off of was not the same place as the caves we went to (typical haha!), but the adventure was more than worth it!

Hope you enjoy this post, SteemIt - more to come about Vietnam :)

It's an amazing place huh Tom? I was there in 2013. So great. we cruised on Ha Long Bay which was the highlight. They have caves around there also. Didn't go to Da Nang but saw similar sorts of things. It's a great destination.

Yes it really was - we went to Ha Long bay shortly after (post coming soon!!!!) - and saw a cave in there too but I liked this one better

Looking forward to it.

It seems like you had a very good experience in Vietnam ! I would like to visit a cave myself and take photos inside and share it with people that I know and overall keep it as a memory.I'm sure you felt nature when you entered the cave, you saw what nature has created.

Thank you for contributing to the Steemit Community.Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.

Yes, it was so beautiful - thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for sharing, these scenes are incredible, I'll have to add it to one of my travel destinations.

Most definitely recommend! Maybe in the summer time so it's not as chilly

Thanks for the tip :)

Wow, I missed this place. Another reason to come back to Vietnam again one day. I loved that country.

That's too funny you're not sure if you went to the place on the brochure! I love that element of unknown in travel, especially when you end up somewhere just as cool. Thanks for sharing!
