I moved to Shanghai last year and though it's a beautiful and exciting city, the urban legends about pollution are true. Seventy-five percent of the time the sky is grey and the air is heavy. BUT...because the G20 summit is happening nearby in a few weeks, the factories have slowed down. The air is gloriously clean, the sky is bright blue and the clouds are discernible and fluffy - there are even sunsets every night. This should last for another month, so get your self on a plane to Shanghai now. There won't be a more beautiful time to visit.
