Singapore: The Perfect 3 Day Itinerary!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Ahhh Singapore. A gloriously designed country that exudes luxury and wealth that's brimming with success, bursting with culture and overflowing with the highest standards of comfort and cleanliness. Despite it's small size the country packs a huge punch when it comes to showmanship. Wowing it's visitors with it's incredibly unique architecture and a lovable modern vibe. It offers you a distinct experience that can't be found anywhere else on the planet!

Being almost in the centre of South East Asia makes it perfectly accessible to anyone travelling in the region, however, it is often overlooked by backpackers because of how infamously expensive it is compared to it's nearby budget-friendly neighbours like Malaysia and Indonesia.

Personally, I think that Singapore is unmissable and vital to any South East Asian trip! BUT, I am also a budget-conscious backpacker like you so I know that 3 days is plenty of time to explore and have a great experience without blowing your travel funds!

I've visited this place 2 times! First in 2015 and second in 2017. The first time I didn't make the most of my time there so on my return I made up for it by filling my days with fun experiences!

Here we go!

Day 1!

  • ArtScience Museum
  • Marina Bay
  • 1 Altitude/ Raffles Place
(Assuming you have arrived and checked into your accommodation in the morning/afternoon)

ArtScience Museum

Cost: FREE (Future World $17 or $12 for students)

The ArtScience museum is the perfect way to start off your Singapore adventure by throwing you into the world of amazing and interactive exhibits that are great for big kids!

The ArtScience Museum is the funky flower looking building sitting right in front of the Marina Bay Sands hotel!

Marina Bay

Spend the evening walking around the bay! Grab some food in the one of the restaurants or food vendors along the waterfront and gaze upon the beautiful city lights as the reflect off the the calm waters!

1 Altitude/ Raffles Place

(Cost: $45 Entry & 2 Drinks)

Enjoy cocktails and a 360 degree view of Singapore from the highest Alfresco bar on the planet! 1 Altitude is situated on the 63rd floor of One Raffles Place and is a MUST visit place! The drinks are amazing and the view of the city is undeniably incredible! Try the famous Singapore Sling cocktail, invented right here in Raffles!

Enjoying the Singapore Sling!

Day 2!

  • Arab Street
  • Marina Bay & the Shoppes
  • Gardens By The Bay
  • China Town

Arab Street & Haji Lane

This is my FAVOURITE place in Singapore! It's bursting with culture, friendly people and other travellers! Located just a short walk from Exit 2 of the Bugis MRT station, this is the perfect place to spend the morning/afternoon! There are so many cool and niché places to eat here as well as crazy gift shops, salons and material shops! Oh, there's also amazing street art EVERYWHERE and a beautiful Mosque!

Selfie Coffee! This place is really fun. When you order a drink you have to take a selfie and it gets made into the foam on your drink!

The Arab Street Mosque is beautiful! Especially at Sunset where the golden sun rays match the gold paint of the building!

The streets surrounding the Mosque are filled by market stalls and restaurants. You can get some really yummy Arabian food here!

Marina Bay & The Marina Bay Shoppes

(Cost: FREE if you want!)

Spend the afternoon exploring Marina Bay from every angle and head inside 'The Shoppes At The Bay' to do some shopping. The mall at the base of the hotel is full of the most luxurious brands available and the quirkiest delicious eateries!

The iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel standing tall above the waters of the bay!

Amazing downward water fountain that pours down from the street above into the centre of the malls finest cafes and restaurants!

My favourite shop at the Bay! DC Superheroes Cafe is the best place to buy one of a kind Super-themed drinks and snacks or indulge in the endless choice of merch!

These lights dangle from the ceiling and change colour throughout the day!

Gardens By The Bay

Spend the evening walking around the Bay Gardens amongst the enormous and elaborate Supertrees! It's a refreshing open space and perfect for relaxing. The garden is huge and there's a lot to discover so take your time to explore!

Walking down the walkway from Marina Bay will give you this incredible view... but this is just the start!

Welcome to Supertree Grove! It feels like you've arrived on an alien planet!

I spent several hours here just walking around trying to get take it all in and take some cool photos!

China Town

Want some delicious food after a long day? China Town is a great option! The streets are covered in food vendors, restaurants and market stalls!

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel is one of a kind. I'd love to see more pictures of the swimming pool on top.

You're right Hiro! it's incredible. But sadly one night stay there is a bit over my budget! hahah. And only guests of the hotel can use the pool. One day I'll stay there ;)

I was also able to bring hi-tech low prices

Yeah Sentosa island is great ! :) I went to universal studios 2 years ago, it was fun!

You know, Singapore was very poor during the seventies. Now it is among the best countries not only in Asia but in the world!!!!

Wow thank you!! Glad you like them! Resteem my post if you think your followers will find this useful! :D

Great pictures, but i think 3 days is not enough for places you havent explore like Singapore Zoo, USS and so on.

Most people I met who backpack only visit for 3 days, that's why this post is for 3 days only. Of course more days would be better. But I'd never go to the zoo anyway.
