The island of Timor is proving to be rather aesthetic.
These rice paddies lined the road to the border with Timor-Leste. This is the sort of scenery that people flock to well established destinations like Bali for, not this lonely island at the end of the Archipelago.
I mean, who ever heard of a holiday in Timor?
But the whole island of Timor- east and west- has some stunning natural beauty!
It’s perfectly safe, if a bit chaotic at times, and has to be one of the most intriguing places I’ve visited in South East Asia.
Sometimes the best way to travel to is to step into the unknown, and to embrace the unexpected. I wasn’t sure what Timor would bring, but now I know there is so much hidden here left to be uncovered.

I never made it to Timor when I was in southeast Asia, I stuck to the more established travel destinations. Reading your last few post it looks like I may have missed out.
I've thought about going to Timor Leste. I think I'll have to next time i'm in SEA
